Great atmosphere. Love the Tupac and Kobe artwork. Food was a little above mids, but I got it medium, so perhaps if there was a little spice it would be better. Maybe a tad overpriced. Parking is rough. Maybe would go back

Best Indian food I have ever had. Service always amazing and the ambiance cannot be beaten. I had the butter chicken, as well as the Lamb Goan Curry and it was hands down the best. You HAVE to order the cheesy Garlic Naan!!!!

Good food & good service , recommend to visit this restaurant, even my kids like it , fresh food , I think it should have chance try it

We visited India Palace on Super Bowl Sunday, and since it was a quieter evening, we were seated immediately. The staff was very attentive, making our dining experience smooth and enjoyable. For starters, we ordered the pickled vegetables, pakoras, and a salad. The pakoras were large, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the accompanying sauces. The pickled vegetables were also really good. The salad, however, arrived at the end of our meal and felt a bit underwhelming--it could benefit from being either pre-tossed or chopped more finely, as it was mostly lettuce with tomatoes, cucumbers, and a small side of sauce. The highlight of our meal was the chicken tikka masala and fresh bread, both cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. My husband also enjoyed his alcoholic mango lassi, which was a nice addition to the meal. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely return for delicious Indian food. A few small improvements to the salad presentation would enhance the meal, but everything else was spot on!

Great food. Great ambience. Great hospitality. Every time we come to eat here the food is great and the service is excellent. Always leave this place feeling good with a full tummy. Onion Bahji is especially tasty.

Great service and food. I love the overall vibe and art as well. Street parking or underground across the street.

Overall Rating: 4.2/5 Ambiance and Atmosphere (4/5) * The decor is inviting, with lots of Indian decorations and some unique paintings, like Indian-style portraits of Kobe Bryant and Drake. * A peaceful waterfall from the ceiling adds a nice touch, though the TV playing Indian music videos disrupted the calm vibe. * Booths and tables are comfy, and photos of the restaurant at night show a festive and decorative look. Both of our visits were during the day. Food Quality (5/5) * The food is incredible--some of the best Indian dishes I've had. * The chicken tandoori was amazing, with a huge portion that's perfect if you're hungry. * The Lamb Tikka was excellent on my second visit. * My wife, who's Indian, loved all the dishes she tried, which speaks to how good the food is. Menu Variety (4/5) * The menu has a solid range of options for vegetarians, meat lovers, and everyone in between. * While the dishes are typical for an Indian restaurant, the flavor and quality are what really stand out. Service (3/5) * The service was good but pretty standard. They're friendly and attentive and all, but lack a lot of personality. They got all our orders right, even with my wife's custom requests. * Nothing really stood out in terms of recommendations or interactions. Value for Money (5/5) * The prices are very reasonable, especially for a Southern California restaurant. * With the quality of food you get, it's a great value. Cleanliness and Location (4/5) * The restaurant was spotless, and we even saw the staff cleaning before they opened when we arrived early one day. Bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. * Parking includes street options and a nearby garage, though the garage adds some expense it is definitely worth it. * Be cautious in the open lots nearby; we had an unpleasant encounter with a homeless man who made threatening comments. This isn't the restaurant's fault, but it's something to be aware of. Whenever we are in the area (on vacation) this is one of our go to places. The food is fantastic, and the reasonable prices make it worth visiting again.

Best Indian spot in Hillcrest, hands down! I ordered the chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. I enjoyed both but my favorite was the chicken tikka masala. I ordered mild/medium and didn't find it to be spicy at all. Next time I may have to go up a step. I also got the garlic naan which was great! Service is friendly and relatively quick. The restaurant is very nice as well as the patio. I highly recommend India Palace!

A tough day! GPS wanted us to drive through the hospital on a road than no longer existed. Lots of traffic. So we decided to stop and eat a late lunch. Someone pulled out of a parking space directly in front of us! Perfect. And that was the kind of "it-all-fit" experience we had. The food was exceptionally good. Tried green peas and mushrooms and enjoyed. Naan with cheese and garlic was yummy. We also had chicken strips that were fully of chicken, not breading! All the food was tasty and lovely. A quiet relaxing atmosphere allowed us to enjoy our food and get rid of the stress of traffic. Good value with moderate pricing. Quick service with pleasant servers. I would definitely go back... if we lived in San Diego instead of Los Angeles!
